Third Eye Blind Announce Two Vinyl Reissues
Third Eye Blind will mark 25 years as a band with a pair of vinyl releases: a reissue of their breakthrough debut album and the first LP release of their greatest hits album.
A Collection, released in 2006, offered 19 tracks from the band, including the massive singles they released in the late '90s and early '00s like "Semi-Charmed Life," "Jumper," "How It's Going to Be," "Never Let You Go" and "Deep Inside of You." It also included three hard-to-find tracks: "Tattoo of the Sun" and "My Time in Exile" - both bonus tracks on the Japanese versions of debut Third Eye Blind and third album Out of the Vein - and a version of "Slow Motion" from second album Blue that includes a full lyric with vocals that was cut from the record due to concerns over violent content. (The satirical song, written about how violence is glorified in society, became a sore subject months after the shooting at Columbine High School.)
The band will also release their 1997 self-titled debut on 2LP gold vinyl to mark a quarter-century since its release. The album sold more than 6 million copies around the world and spun off the Top 10 hits "Semi-Charmed Life," "How It's Going to Be" and "Jumper" plus fan favorites "Graduate" and "Losing a Whole Year."
A Collection will be available July 15 and Third Eye Blind will be in stores Sept. 2.
