Paramore Share Updates on Sixth Album

Paramore recently opened up to Rolling Stone about the session for their forthcoming sixth studio album - their first since 2017's After Laughter.

While no title or release date have been confirmed, fans have every right to be excited. For starters, it's the first time in awhile that the band is starting with a consistent line-up. Founder/frontwoman Hayley Williams is joined once again by guitarist Taylor York (a member of the band since 2007) and founding drummer Zac Farro, who acrimoniously split from the band in 2010 only to return during the After Laughter sessions.

“It’s really exciting because the three of us have completely different strengths when it comes to creating," Farro said. "It’s making the music and just the whole process of making a Paramore album feel completely new.”

Having put out two striking solo albums in 2020 and 2021, Williams expressed enthusiasm over returning to the rock sound that made Paramore live favorites and Grammy Award winners, while cautioning that their next project would not be a "comeback 'emo' record."

“The music we were first excited by wasn’t exactly the kind of music we went on to make,” Williams elaborated. “Our output has always been all over the place and with this project, it’s not that different. We’re still in the thick of it but some things have remained consistent from the start. 1) More emphasis back on the guitar, and 2) Zac should go as Animal as he wants with drum takes.”
